Wesley Zach (Tehawennahkwa) Miller

July 16, 1987 - June 15, 2025

Wesley Zach Miller, Onondaga Beaver Clan of the Six Nations Grand River Territory left us suddenly on June 15, 2025.  He was born on July 16,1987 in Brantford, Ontario.

Wesley was a guiding light for Mohawk Language. He not only preserved the words but nurtured the voices of those he taught.  Revitalizing and teaching language helped others to reclaim a sacred part of who we are—our identity, our stories, and our connection to the ancestors.  For those of you that carry his teachings we ask you speak louder, share the teachings, and care of one another more gently in his name.  Wesley is survived by his son Zakary Bryan Skye, mother Lisa Miller, father, Peter Nahwegahbow, brothers Che Nahwegahbow and Matthew Sturgeon, grandfather Joe Nahwegahbow, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.  He was predeceased by his grandparents Eugene & Erna Miller, and Norma Nahwegahbow.

Wesley is resting at 588 Chiefswood Rd. On Wednesday June 18th after 4pm. where Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 20, 2025 at 9 am.  Reception at Polytechnic Grand River Room to follow from 12 - 2 pm. (food drop off from 10 - 12).  Arrangements by Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken.  www.rhbanderson.com

Wes was a bright light , a ray of sunshine, I have many fond memories of having spent some time with him a few years ago. Loved listening to him speaking his native language, was so intelligent, I will cherish the memories he has left with me. May he rest peacefully. Forever young. Gone, but not forgotten. Condolences to his family and friends.
