SHEPPARD, Stanley Bruce

After a happy, productive life Stanley died peacefully on December 1st, 2015 at age 83 at St. Joseph's Hospital Hamilton with his family by his side. Loving husband of 59 years to wife Mary (Lindsay). Devoted to his family Stanley will be missed by 4 children, Thomas (Debbie), Larry (Margo), John (Doris Kienitz) and Carolyn (Dennis Cocchio). Stanley dedicated his life to his love of farming, his passion for church and community and his never ending support for his family. Stanley treasurered his grandchildren: Scott (Jen), Lindsay (Ian Lambert), Rebecca (Carl Forrest) and Trevor; Elizabeth and Grant; Melissa (Dustin Hyde), Sarah, Amanda (Louie) and Steven (Shiloh); Lavina, Simon, Avery, and Amelia; his step grandchildren Michelle Kienitz (Scott), Alex Burley (Lauren) and Philipp Burley (Brittany) and beloved great grandchildren, Kirby, Charlotte, Mason, Ava, Annie and Sadie. Stan is survived by his brother Albert (Doris) and sister Muriel Stetler. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Smelser, brothers-in-law Chris Smelser and Carl Stetler and his great-grandson Seth.Stan will be missed by in-laws Jim and Marion Lindsay, Winston and Sue Lindsay and Don and Grace Sudden and his many neices and nephews in the Sheppard and Lindsay families.
     
In addition to his farming career Stanley enjoyed his time and many friendships that arose while serving on many agricultural and community related Boards and Committees such as the Haldimand Federation of Agriculture, Haldimand Milk Marketing Committee, Wilson MacDonald Museum, North Erie Shore Historical Society, Selkirk Hertiage Day and Nanticoke Municipal Council. Stan was a dedicated and active member of Faith Centennial United Church.
     
Visitation and funeral will be at Faith Centennial United Church, 28 Main St. West, Selkirk. Visitation on Friday December 4th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service Saturday December 5th at 11a.m.  Burial to follow at Cheapside United Church Cemetary. In lieu of flowers a donation to Faith Centennial United Church, Canadian Foodgrains Bank or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.  
     
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and staff at ICU unit, St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton for their exemplary care during Stan's illness.
