Shirley Irene Horlick (nee Bacher)

March 15, 1927 - September 15, 2026

Peacefully at RVilla Caledonia on September 15, 2026, in her 100th year.  Loving and adored mother to Doug and Angie, Brian and Kirsten, Daryl and Lynn.  Proud Nana to Tanner, Christopher, Brianna and Scott, Haldan and Ashlyn, Kendra and Dalton, Justyn and Giuliana, Collin and Sophie.  Special Great Nana to Payton, Jolene, Alice and Nico.  Survived by her sister-in-law Emma Jean Bacher, and her many nephews and their families.  Predeceased by her siblings Ruth Smith (Hugh), Glen Bacher (Jean), Dorothy Bacher, Carl Bacher, Bill Bacher, and nephew Kevin.

Shirley passed many hours crocheting blankets, and playing a good game of cards.  She enjoyed baking for family and friends and taste testing every dessert; some more than once.  She loved sending and receiving greeting cards for any occasion.  But foremost, Shirley loved any opportunity that allowed her to be with her family and enjoying time with them.

Longtime member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and their Altar Guild.  Shirley attained the title “The Pie Lady” for her years of service at the church suppers.  She loved conversations with all who called and visited with her more recently at her home at RVilla.

The family would like to thank the staff of RVilla for their care and kindness over the last few years.

The family will honour her with a service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Caledonia on Saturday, September 19th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Caledonia Cemetery.

In Shirley’s memory, expressions of sympathy can be made to her church or the charity of one’s choice.
