Satch (Brian) Sheldon Martin

January 29, 1947-July 14, 2026

Peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, Satch began his journey home. He is survived by his siblings Sandra Sault, Shelda Johnson, Linda Hill, Missy Davey (Mike), Michael Martin (Julie), and chosen brother Wayne Miller (Carla); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Sheldon and Edna ‘Dee’ Martin, brothers John and Mark, sisters Karen and Sherri and brothers-in-law Danny Sault, John Johnson, William Hill and Earl Hill; and sister-in-law Bev Martin.

In his younger years he loved all sports and excelled at baseball, lacrosse and hockey winning awards including a team championship trophy from Detroit’s Red Kelly for being the first native team to win the Peewee tournament in Goderich. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and golf but one thing that remained consistent in his life was that he loved to dance and could always be counted on to get up when the music started, bringing laughter and joy wherever he went and will forever be remembered for his unique dance moves and lightness of foot.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His most cherished role in his life was being an uncle. He never turned down an opportunity to spend time with his nephews, whether it meant heading out on a new adventure, teaching them something new, or simply making memories together. Those memories will be treasured forever.

Resting at Styres Funeral Home, 1798 4th Line Rd., Ohsweken on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. (a small service at 7pm.)  A graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery on Thursday July 16, 2026 at 11 am.  www.rhbanderson.com
