Peacefully at the West Haldimand Hospital, Hagersville on Thursday January 25, 2018 in her 99th year. Wife of the late Matthew Andrew “Hugh” Smith. Loving mother of Ron & Elizabeth, and Ray & Melanie. Dear grandmother of Jillian & Joe, Melanie & Michael, Matthew & Samantha, Katelyn & Taras, and Brandon & Lisa. Dear great grandmother of Hunter. Sister of Bill & Emma Jean, Shirley, and the late Glen, Dorothy, and Carl Bacher. Sister-in-law of Lyle & Jean Smith, and Dorothy Smith. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ruth was a longtime member of the Oneida United Church. The family will honour her life with visitation at the Hyde & Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main Street South, Hagersville on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday January 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment Gore Cemetery.
