Linda Anne Best
November 19, 1943 - June 2, 2026
Linda Best (Herod) passed away on Tuesday June 2, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Hamilton and having spent her life in Haldimand County, Linda has always been defined by her tenacity and honesty. As a single mother of five life was not always easy, but she taught everyone around her how to be resilient and that resilience will be a legacy deeply held by her descendants and friends. Linda is survived by her partner, Lloyd Richard Engell; Children: Darlene Barber (Greg Barber), Kenneth Best (Robin Sherk), Ronald Best (Tanya Lindsey), and Richard Best. Predeceased by: Brother Wayne Herod and son James Best.
She will be laid to rest with her parents Jack and Ina Herod at the Gore Pioneer Cemetery in Oneida. Never wanting to be the center of attention we are continuing that tradition per her wishes and no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers we ask any well-wishers to make an in memoriam donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
