Doreen Elizabeth Forrest

September 20, 1956 - June 1, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Born in Hagersville and ended her courageous and hard-fought six month battle with progressive liver disease, then rapid kidney decline – passing peacefully at West Haldimand General Hospital in Hagersville.
Predeceased by her parents Lionel and Mary Ford, three aunts, two uncles, and ten siblings-in law.
She was the devoted wife of Bill Forrest, cherished mother of Jen (Kaela) and Kaleah (Neal), doting Gamma of Scarlett Forrest, Zoe and Zander Young. She is also survived by her Aunt Leona Ford, her much loved cousin Clayton Hunter and his wife Brigitte, Bill’s surviving sisters Betty Mitchell, Marion Schweyer and Stella Rayner, and countless nieces and nephews.
Doreen’s involvement in many social and community-based clubs and organizations in addition to her dedicated work for many years within her church will not be forgotten.
Our gratitude to the doctors involved in her care over the years including Dr. Ellis and team through her two separate battles with cancer in 2010 and again in 2020, and Dr. Williams for two knee and one hip replacement.
A heartfelt Thank You to the doctors and nurses and physiotherapists involved in her care at both Norfolk General Hospital and West Haldimand General Hospital. An extra vote of gratitude to Dr. Collins (Hamilton Liver Clinic) and Dr. Cloete (WHGH) and the amazing, compassionate nursing staff at WHGH during her final weeks.
As per Doreen’s wishes cremation has taken place, with an announcement regarding a Celebration of Life to come. As an expression of sympathy, a donation can be made to the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice or the charity of your choice.

Dear Bill, Jen, Kaleah and families,
So very sorry to hear of Doreen's passing. After those good years at Walpole North, we would often run into each other in a store or at an event and she would catch me up on your family. She was always cheerful and had so much common sense. I will remember her fondly. Please accept my condolences. Sending hugs. Ann McBride
