Donald George Richards

Peacefully at home on Thursday July 21, 2022 at the age of 87 years.  Beloved husband and best friend of the late Audrey.  Loving father of Bill (Bette), Kim Meyer (Steve) & (late Pete), and Bob (Michelle).   Loving grandfather of Rebecca (Elliott), Michael, Drew, Lucas (Ashley), Kristine (Jordan), Matthew, and Jonathan.  Loving great grandfather of Callum, Hallie, Landon, Blake, Lane, and Nohl.  Will be missed by brother-in-law John McDougall (Doris), and his nieces & nephews. Don started his career working for the Township of Oneida and Haldimand to fund his real passion for Farming. Don and Audrey purchased Maple Grove Farms where they Dairy farmed for many years. In addition to his love for his family, Don loved and homed many unique animals on the farm but also had great love for Auctioneering and calling "Square Dances" where he made many friends. The family will honour his life with visitation at the Oneida United Church, 699 Haldimand Rd. 9, Hagersville on Monday July 25, 2022 from 4-8 pm. where funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 11 am.  Interment Gore Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville.  www.rhbanderson.com

We just learned of Don's passing, we are very sorry for your loss. Great memories of many visits over the years with our neighbours on the fourth line. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In our thoughts and prayers.
