Rob Awalt
August 10, 1972 - January 13, 2025

Awalt, Rob “Blocky” left us suddenly on Monday, January 13th at the young age of 52,  in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Forever Best Friend and loyal, loving husband to Debbie (nee Jepson); outrageous and politically incorrect Dad to Tucker Gordon Roy, Abbey Emma Joyce and Shelby Norma Jane.   Little brother to Jeff and his wife Michelle; beloved Grandson of the late Joyce Burke.  Son in law to Howard (deceased) and Norma Jepson; brother in law to Russ & Susan, Ron & Luisa and Connie & Joe; special bond with Aunt Donna Jane.

Visitation at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Sunday, January, 19th from 1:30 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm.  No formal ceremony; private family burial.

Rob retired from CGC Hagersville Plant after 30 years. His retirement dream – although many did not understand it – was to move out East. Together we moved to New Brunswick and for the last three and a half months, he was a changed man – he died living his dream with his Family!  We will remember and miss this sarcastic, cranky, best “nick-name giver” ever, dedicated Flyers fan – forever and always.

Condolences

I don’t know where to begin; it’s sad and hurtful to hear this news. I’m so sorry for what happened to the Awalt family, Abbey. I know Bob as a kind and caring person who loves everyone around him. During my time with him, he treated me like family, always encouraging and supporting me. Bob and his family have shown me what love and support truly mean. They are an important part of my life history.

Take heart, Debbie, Abbey, Tucker, and Shelby; may this never happen again. I have so many good things to say about this man—he is a hero.

We love you.

May his soul rest in peace.

Debbie, Abbey, Tucker, Shelby and Rob’s brother Jeff and families. We are so sorry to hear of the devastating news of Rob’s passing and would like to offer our most sincere condolences at this time. He was a very well liked co-worker and friend for many years! He was good at his job and good at his woodworking and other hobbies! He always found time to share a conversation and was a very humorous guy to be around. He promoted laughter around his presence. Rob will be sadly missed by all. RIP “ Blocky”!

Most sincere condolences to Debbie,Tucker,Shelby,Abbey and family. Rob truly was a great mentor at cgc! With a cranky attitude, smart mouth and heart of gold, he made our days better with laughter, insight and insults that just made you a better person. Even though he's been retired for a bit, the place hasn't been the same without him there. Grateful that he left this world living his dream with the ones he loved the most. You worked so hard for that dream. Forever he will be missed by all. Rest easy my friend. Oh and givem hell up there Blocky

Sad and shocked to hear this terrible news. My thoughts to his family & to big brother Jeff. So many good memories from back in the day. We had this epic argument over which U2 album was the best. The headlock he put me in was the deciding factor :)
Blocky was one-of-a-kind, and will be missed.
