Dorothy Richardson
March 28, 1942 – January 16, 2025
Leaving behind the legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dorothy Elizabeth (nee Lint) Richardson, peacefully at the farm on Thursday Jan16th, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife of Grant of 57 years, amazing mother to Jason (Denise), Aaron (Shannon), Andrew (Jenelle), Matthew (Julie). Special Grandmother to Brant (Maddy), Victoria, Hayley, Tanner, Jarret, Dallas, Dakota and Dawsyn. Loving little sister to Louise (2023) (John) (2001), Stan (2005) (Joan) (2023), Skip (2018) (Jean), Elmer (2019) (Florine), Jennie May (Don) (2016), Alex (2023) (Ellen), and Tony (Ruthanne) (2018). Survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends and sister in law Edna (Keith).
Along with being Grant’s right hand for all those years on the family farm. She also volunteered her time on many church committees and various service groups. She was a School Board trustee for 9 years, an avid hockey mom to 4 boys. She was always willing to lend a hand to help in anything she could do. A true thoughtful, compassionate lady like none other, who deeply loved her family.
We would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Maida and her staff, to all of the Nurses and Doctors who cared for her on the Oncology floor of St. Catherine’s Hospital. A big Thank you to CBI Health Nursing to all of Bay Shore scheduler’s and P.S.W.’s, who helped her to be able to stay in her home. As well as thanks to all the people who prayed, who made food, sent well wishes and homemade cards, phone calls and texts. To those special people who went out of their way to provide care and direction for Dorothy’s health along the way, you will never be forgotten. Big heart felt thanks to Rev Dawn Ballantyne for her love and compassion for Dorothy and her entire family through her journey.
Visitation will be at South Cayuga Community Church on Friday January 24th 2-4pm and 6-8pm at 6182 Rainham Road, South Cayuga. Funeral service will be also at the church on Sat Jan 25th at 11:00am. A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Dunn Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to Niagara Health Sciences (The Walker Family Cancer Centre) or South Cayuga Community Church. Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Funeral Chapel, Hagersville, On. www.rhbanderson.com

Dorothys’ contribution over the years at South Cayuga Community Church as assistant and secretary to many ministers,
kitchen support wherever her help was needed, will never be forgotten. Her dedication of her Christian faith for many years is only a small part of her legacy.
May she rest in the arms of her saviour Jesus Christ. Gods Blessings to all of you who are her family and friends during this time of grieving.
Carrying her memories ahead are a loving tribute to her life on this earth. Peace be with you.

Grant and Family,
Our deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your family. I spent many days on the "Richardson Farm" as a young boy and close friend of Aaron's. So many great memories with all of the boys, and Mom always there to feed us and make repairs whenever the injuries occurred. She was the glue that held everyone together and she will be deeply missed. So sorry for your loss.

Sending our thoughts and prayers to the entire Richardson family. Dorothy was an incredible woman; beautiful, inspirational, compassionate and accepting of others. She was especially kind and welcoming to my son with special needs who lit up whenever he saw her; she never turned down a high five, handshake or an affectionate arm squeeze from him. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Our sincerest love and condolences,
Penni and Garratt Court
