Peter Delbert Myke

Peacefully on Sat. July 2, 2022 at the age of 89, Peter went to be with Ruth (2019), his beloved wife of 66 years. He’ll be sadly missed by children Tom (Paula) & Jeff (Cheryl). Loved Grandpa to Codie, Randi, Aaron, Jesse, Grant & Brooke & Poppa to 8 great grandchildren. Survived by sisters in- law Audrey Nixon & Laura Hamilton as well as cherished nieces & nephews and many treasured friends. He was a 49 yr. employee at CGC and retired as maintenance supervisor. Peter was instrumental in the development of many minor sports in Hagersville as a board member, fundraiser, & sports columnist.  He coached many championship baseball teams and was also a Referee in Chief for minor hockey for over 10 years. He provided leadership, guidance and mentorship for many young Hagersville athletes. Peter & Ruth spent their summers at Balsam Lake for over 40 years enjoying time with family & friends. Cremation has taken place and as per Peter’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Able Living, 2nd floor WHGH for their excellent care. If desired, donations in Peter’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s society.
