Kenneth David Hopper

Ken was born May 31st, 1934.  He grew up in Springvale on a farm with his parents Ida and Harold Hopper and siblings Betty and Bill; all who predeceased him. Growing up, Ken competed in plowing matches (1st prize in 1952) and 4-H with prize winning calves at the Royal Winter Fair.

Ken was a truck driver his whole life.  Early in his career he drove long hauls to the U.S. and later drove throughout southern Ontario; most of the runs along the 400 highway corridor from Windsor to Oshawa and Buffalo to Ottawa.  He had an incredible accident-free driving record of over 45 years.  Ken lived most of his life on a farm outside of Hagersville.  He cash cropped, fitting in seeding and harvesting alongside driving truck.

He was a great Dad to Bonnie (Marty Brown), Jayne (George Ryder), Larry (deceased) and Val.  Beloved Grandpa to 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

After a long and healthy life, Ken died on February 11, 2023 at Parkview Meadows in Townsend.  He received excellent care from the staff and his family is very grateful he was content and happy for the last months of his life.  He will be greatly missed.

There will be a private family interment at the Gore Cemetery.  Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Ken, please consider the Hagersville Public Library.
