Sending my most heartfelt condolences to Karen's loved ones. I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with her, a day doesn't go by where I don't recall on some wisdom or anecdote given to me by Karen, be it gardening, weaving, motherhood, cooking, or cultivating a calm mindset. She was the best kind of person and left an indelible mark on those of us privileged to know her.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Karen's passing. There are not sufficient words to capture the beautiful spirit and exceptional kindness that she exuded. A gentle soul, so genuine. She left a positive impact on those she met. My heart goes out to Leo and the family as your journey continues. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs.

My most sincere heartfelt sympathy to Leo and all the family. There really are not enough words to express the sadness that Karen's passing has caused. She truly was a one-of-a-kind special person and there is a very huge hole in my heart now. I like to think that she's now strumming her guitar and/or banjo and singing along with her newfound angel companions and the rest of the family that's she's with now. I hope they're singing some "hurtin'" songs and some of the good old German ones too.

Our hearts go out to Leo, Cathy, Jacqueline, Cherie, Jeanette, and all of the family. We too are at a loss in expressing our shock and sadness at the loss of someone we considered a kind, gentle and wonderful soul. We also believe and console ourselves with the thought that she is now smiling her smile and laughing her laugh while singing along with her mom who is strumming her guitar and her dad who is playing his harmonica, and all of the music loving family that have already left us.

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

I don’t use this moniker often, but in light of the cousin connection it seems wholly appropriate. Karen and I were two of five born in 1954 and shared many a laugh, adventure and quiet moment. We both squished into the back of her dad’s Volkswagen Beetle while he drove us around the field. Aunt Mae fretted. We rode our bikes down the Streetsville hill and soundly wiped out. My mom and her dad were not amused to see us bleeding and limping along the Fifth Line. On another occasion, we tobogganed down their front yard hill, over the ditch, across the road and into the field. Thanks Uncle Fred for building an awesome ramp that gave us the speed we needed to complete the ride. Of course, one had to look left and right at the start for cars!! Every day together ended in the backyard swing.

Leo, Cathy, Jacqueline, Cherie, Jeanette and your families, look after each other with the kindness, love and gentleness Karen exuded. Jim and I pray for your comfort as you navigate the coming days and weeks.

Leo - Flora and I want to pass along our deepest condolences to you and all Karen’s family on her very sudden and shocking passing. We both spent much time with her at her wonderful yoga classes, listening to her soft calming voice guiding us through the various routines. Her knowledge and personality was so beneficial for all her students who were trying to better themselves. Karen was a beautiful role model for how one should live a good life. Our paths crossed a number of years ago, as I have such a love for yoga and she, my guide. Although I've known her for a short time recently her memory came to me, prior to my knowing of her passing. Now that it is the time of harvest, one day after an outdoor yoga session, she offered the bounty from her garden to anyone who wanted some. I did. Yellow beans will always bring back her memory to me. I know she is a beautiful, kind & generous soul and I send my condolences to her family.
