Verna Slater, in her 91st. year, passed away peacefully at Leisure Living Retirement Home in Jarvis on Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was born on July 22, 1924. Daughter of the late Myrtle Hoskin (Nee: Campbell 1956). Beloved wife of the late Harold Slater (2004). Loving mother of Marilyn Slater (Gary) of Brampton, Don (Marion) of Waterford, Gordon (Joanne) of Denver, Colorado, and the late Shirley (1997). Cherished grandma of Michael (Jenn), David, Amanda, and Matthew. Sister-in-law of Olive Hoskin. Predeceased by her brothers Roy (Louie), and Lloyd. Verna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. After spending most of her life living and working on the family farm she spent her last number of years at Leisure Living. You will be greatly missed Mom and in our hearts forever. The family will honour her life with visitation at the Hyde & Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 1 pm. Interment Knox Presbyterian Cemetery in Jarvis.
