Thelma was born in Montreal, Quebec on February 7, 1921 and died peacefully with family by her side on June 1, 2017 at Hardy Terrace, Mt. Pleasant, Ontario. Wife of the late John Alexander Barr. Beloved mother of Gail and Ted Phibbs, Joyce and Ken Nicks, Janet and Brian Farley, Dave and Mary Barr. Loving grandmother of Mike and Sheri, Ray and Tracey, Sarah and Andy, Megan and Jay, Becky and Brad, Chad and Crystal, Jessica, Travis and Shannon, Paige, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Jeremy and Lauren, Ruth and Graham, Andy and Beth. Proud great-grandmother of Laiken, Jared, Charlotte, Kaitlin, Jack, Jared, Hayley, Jayden, Emma, Daniel, Madison, Curtis, Grace, Ava, Colton, Norah, Zoe, George, Griffin and David. Sister of the late Melvin, and Sydney Tongue. Thelma is also survived by her sister-in-law Flo Tongue, brothers-in-law Ross Barr, Ron and Gloria Barr and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration to honour her life will be held at the Hyde & Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main Street, South, Hagersville on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Hagersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Staff at Hardy Terrace for their compassionate care of Thelma.
