ABBOTT: Stephen North
Passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of 53 years to Joan (Fess) Abbott. Loving father of Colleen Barter (Richard), Andrea Hebscher (Ed), and Erin Gagnon (Dean). Incredibly proud grandpa of Matthew Hebscher, Andrew Barter, Graham Hebscher, Sean Barter, and Eric Hebscher. Brother of Michael (Cindy), Barbara Bernardas (late Lee), David (deceased) (Joan), Sandra Cole, Peter (Colleen), and Jamie (Ruthanne). Brother-in-law of Doris Jones (Robert), Douglas (Marion), Joyce Neill (Pat), Donna Fess, and Harold (Valerie). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Stephen worked for 27 years at Procter and Gamble in Hamilton before retiring in 1995. In retirement, Steve was always found living life to it’s fullest even up to end. He was known to everyone as always being active and looking for his next challenge. Among Steve’s many accomplishments, his proudest was cycling across Canada in his late 60’s. At Stephen’s request, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at the Selkirk Town Hall on Sunday July 17, 2016 from 1-5 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society. www.rhbanderson.com
