Ruth Gloyd (nee Yager) left us peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital with her family by her side, on January 27th in her 93rd year. She was predeceased by her loving husband Blake, daughters Janice and Karen, son-in-law Daniel Coxon, brothers Ernie, Vernon (Helen) and Lloyd Yager, and sister-in-law Lois.  Dear sister of Maurice (Arlene), sister-in-law of Edna, Lois and Laverne (Betty). Cherished mother of Bryan, Janice, Karen, Marilyn (Gazley) and Barbara.   Loved mother-in-law of Clark, Bob, Marilyn, Susan and Gary.  Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Amy (Tim), Beth (Adam), Jason (Lisa), Hillary (Moe), Andrea (Tim), Michael (Christina) and Angela (Trevor).  Great-grandmother to Ethan, Travis, Wesley, Clara, Samantha, Danielle, Austin, Brayden, Ethan and Mya. A passionate care person of others, Ruth pursued a career as a nurse studying at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing graduating in 1945.  Ruth enjoyed many years of serving thousands of patients at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital. A pillar in our community, Ruth was passionate about and engaged with its members. She nurtured many life-long friendships including members of Rainham Centre Women’s Institute and the Selkirk Baptist Church. We are celebrating Ruth’s life and welcome visits from our community friends at Hyde & Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main Street S., Hagersville on Friday, January 30 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Selkirk Baptist Church on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. (visitation from 11:30 am).  Memorial donations are appreciated and we are supporting Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Selkirk Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.  www.rhbanderson.com

I just came across this today. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mom. It has been many
years since we have seen each other, but I often think of the times spent at the cottage.
