miss him on our return trips to Hagersville. We wish Karen and family the best as they grieve this great loss.

Served on Haldimand Council for many years with Max...always a Hagersville supporter, ever a responsible Haldimand councillor. Not often did I find someone who defended their ward, buy, kept the overall vision of the municipality in their vision..Max did...and he did it well!

Max was a great man and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Lucky are we to have been touched by such a great man of character. His son Matt was a huge part of our basketball program for many years and he always leaned on his fathers teachings as he led his players through the grind of high school basketball. My thoughts and prayers are with the King Family. Mr. King was one of my favourite teachers at Cayuga High School. I saw someone write an infectious smile, which is very true and sometimes a mischievous smile when he was kidding around in class with students. I always looked up and respected him as I believed he cared for you the student as a person whether an A student or an average student struggling to get by. He was real and would take time for you discussing matters of school the world around us, I clearly remember one discussion on faith in God. Though I have not seen him in years I can honestly say I thought of him often whenever I drove through Hagersville by the church and the impact he had on me.

The King family so many times and ways intertwined with the Powell family that it would be hard to count the ocassions...especially those student days at HHS and more recently in times of celebration and death. Max was such a friend and role model that can never be replaced but only lived out in our lives and hearts. The loss will be great for you Karen and your family but for the wider community as well.
