Maureen Susan LaForme
December 18, 1952 - February 21, 2026
Maureen Susan Laforme passed away surrounded by her loving family February 21, 2026. Our beloved matriarch has been reunited with the love of her life Leo.
Born December 18,1952 in London, England. Maureen grew up in South London where she met and married to her soulmate of 54 years.
Maureen’s greatest pride and joy was her family, here and abroad. She was a firecracker who brought happiness and energy to those lucky enough to be around her. A bright light with a unique spirit she was the life of the party.
Maureen’s calling came as an ECE in Canada as a daycare teacher on the Mississauga of the Credit FN. She shared her funny and caring ways with the children. A natural entertainer, her silly songs always brought smiles and laughter. Her continued connection with past students and then their children was something she cherished. She was a proud community member.
Maureen was the loving mother of Leo(Kerrie), Daniel(Shannon) and Justin(Jenny) grandmother of Amanda, Jaime-Lee, Raven, Aiden, Quinn, Bella. Gracie, Connor and Declan. Great grandchildren Kylie, Boden, Harlow and Leo. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret, Kathleen and brother John, nieces and nephews in England and Australia.
Maureen is predeceased by her true love Leo, sisters Edna and Teresa, sister in law Donna, brother in law Ronnie and grandson Kieran.
The world is dimmer without her bright light. We will hold close her lessons, humour, encouragement and unwavering love. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Forever in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville. www.rhbanderson.com

Sincere condolences to Mo's family - she and I travelled to Mohawk College during our ECE training
. We shared many stories as we travelled to and from - she genuinely loved working and contributing to the youngest community members. Her family was important to her! She sorely missed her soulmate and I'm sure she was greeted warmly when she arrived at heavens door!

Sending our condolences to Maureen's children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, also to Maureen's sisters Kate, Margaret and Maureen's brother Johnny and all the family. Whenever we saw Maureen over the years she spoke about her family and how much she loved them, and told us about all the great times you all had. Maureen was a lively, outgoing person, all about her family and loved ones.
Sending love and all our best wishes across the miles, from Zack, Trudi, Dylan and Ryan xxxxx

I’m so sorry for your loss all my sympathies and love.
Maureen has always been an inspiration to me since the first day we met. I’ll never forget how she sang and danced with all the children in the family and taught them what family really meant.
From day one Maureen taught me that the most important thing in life is the love of your family and I’ve carried that with until this day.
Maureen told me stories of the love she had for Leo, her son’s Leo, Daniel and Justin and their families. I know she was very proud of all you.
I often thought about how brave both Maureen and Leo were, moving their life three thousand miles across the ocean from the uk and what an amazing story of strength, resilience and love it truly was.
Although we spent many years living in different continents you were always in my thoughts. I will miss you Maureen, what great teacher you have been to me and many more. I love you and will never forget you.
