Marion Steele

STEELE (nee Hodgson), Marion Elizabeth
(January 23, 1930 - April 14, 2019)

Surrounded by her loving family and wonderful caregivers at Emmanuel House, Marion passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Emmanuel House Residential Hospice, Hamilton, Ontario.  A devoted mother and mother-in-law to Cathy and Bruce Whitford of Simcoe and Karen and Randy Moore of Hamilton.  Dear grandmother of Brad (Janine) Whitford, Heather (Todd) Stronks, Brittany Moore, Carly (Ryan Gacnik) Moore and Erin Moore.  Loving GG of Caitlin and Keera Whitford and Kaden, Karsyn and Bailey Stronks.  She will be deeply missed by her loving and loyal furry companions Ellanore and West.  Predeceased by her loving husband, Russell (1994) and their adored son, Mark (1985).  Also predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Lloyd Rutherford and her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Blake and Marg Hodgson and Jim and Norma Hodgson and her nephew and his wife, Alan and Carla Rutherford.  She will also be fondly remembered by her many nephews and nieces and their families.  Cremation has taken place and to respect our mother’s wishes, a private service will be held at a later date at the Selkirk Union Cemetery, Selkirk, Ontario.  The family would like to express a very sincere thank you to all of her wonderful caregivers at The Emmanuel House and friends.  In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to Good Shepherd Centre (Emmanuel House Residential Hospice), 90 Stinson Street, Hamilton, Ontario.
