Peacefully at the Cedarwood Nursing Home, Simcoe on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 Marie Hammond in her 91st. year. Wife of the late Orval Elsie and Carson Hammond. Loving mother of Dona and Douglas Mounteer (both deceased), Sharon and Bob Marshall, and Douglas (deceased) and Rose Elsie. Dear grandmother (Nana) of Rodney and Kristen Fess, Cindy and Aldo Santopadre, Pamela and Darrin Ropp, and Sharlene and Nolan Kiely. Dear great grandmother (Nana Marie) of Katrina, Rachel, Kennedy, Taylor, and Ruby. Sister of Lorna, and the late Eugene, Bruce, Marvin, Tom, Elizabeth, Greta, Norma, Geraldine, Margaret, Shirley, June, and Joyce. Also survived by and will be remembered by the Hammond family and her nieces and nephews. The family will honour her life with visitation at the Hyde & Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main Street, South, Hagersville on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday September 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment Zion Cemetery, Wainfleet. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Charity of Your Choice.

our hearts go out to the whole family at this most difficult time. Please accept our sincerest of condolences. She was a wonderful, strong woman, who was a great role model for all the women after her. She was proud of you all and will be a bright star in the sky watching over each and every one of you.

Carson Hammond was my 2nd cousin 1x removed. We've lost track of that side of the Hammond tree, but we still honour all of them.

Dear Sharon and family, I was honoured to know your mother and grandmother. She was always so appreciative and would often provide encouragement. There are many who have come to know her that will miss her wit and her welcoming smile. She loved her family and looked forward to your visits. My condolences to the entire family. She will be missed.

My heart goes out to your family. Aunt Marie was a very special lady with a heart of gold! I will always remember her as a spunky lady with a fantastic sense of humour and I will miss her dearly. I know my grandmother has lost a piece of her heart having to say good bye to her last sibling and favourite sister.
