The family of Lena Fowler sadly announce her passing at her home in Parkview Meadows Southview Retirement on October 1st, 2022 in her 98th year of a life well lived.
She is survived by her loving family; son Michael (Susan), daughter Sandra (Mike); grandchildren Lauren, Matthew (Nicole) and great grandchildren Claire, Sarah, and Katie as well as nieces and nephews. Special grandma to Jessica Everets and her daughter Ally.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill; parents Michael and Mary and her siblings Matthew, Louis, Tony (Pauline) and Tillie (Ted) as well as her treasured grandson David (Jessica).
Lena was a devoted mother and grandmother who adored her family. Her kindness, infectious smile and sense of humour endeared her not only to her family but also to many friends and acquaintances over her long lifetime.
She was a wonderful role model always treating people with unconditional love and respect. Like her grandson David, she loved hockey and her Montreal Canadiens.
The family is eternally grateful; to the caring staff at Parkview Meadows Southview Retirement for their thoughtfulness, care and support during Lena’s time there especially over the last 3 weeks of her life when they provided her extended care. You are all wonderful caregivers.
As was Lena’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would appreciate donations to Parkview Meadows Southview Retirement or to a charity of your choosing in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville.

To Sandy & Mike, Mike & Susan and families. It is with great sadness that I read of Lena's passing, a kind and generous lady. As you know, she was a dear friend of my Mom. They enjoyed their coffee time at Timmies, their fun at the casino and so many other outings together. I believe your Mom went to join mine to catch up on what's happening in town. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. /Love Sandra

Mrs Fowler was such a kind lady with a wry sense of humour. She always had a wave and a smile. She did an act of kindness for my then, 7 year old daughter, when we were neighbours, something I have never forgotten. My sincerest condolences to all who loved her.

Dear Sandy, Mike and family, Words cannot express how much Lena meant to our family as a neighbour, friend and a grandmother ( though she preferred Aunt) to our children since our families were so far away. She and Bill treated our kids as their own. I am so grateful to have known a kind and cheerful person. I have some very wonderful memories of your family and all the Yacabinos. Most sincerely yours with lots of love, Roz

Sandy and Mike we are so sad to hear of the loss of your mother. She and Bill have always been in our family stories going back to the 50’s when Gordon showed up in Hagersville working as a young single guy with Bill on the railroad. They were both so nice to Gord. Our condolences to you and all of your mothers family. This is a loss to our community.
