Kenneth Claude Fess
September 8, 1927 - October 15, 2019


It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ken Fess in his 93rd year, at West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville.  Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Schumacher) Fess; loving father of Diane Secord (Earl), Beth Peters (Glen), Sharon Rulli (Sandy), Judy Vanderbolt (Gary), Doug Fess (Terry); dear grandfather to 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.  Brother-in-law of Harvey Schumacher and Margery Whisler (deceased).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Ken was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisherville and directed the choir for many years.  He was also a member of the Haldimand Choralairs and the Dofasco Male Chorus.  He was a volunteer firefighter for 30 years and retired as Deputy Chief for Hagersville.  Special thanks to nursing staff, Dr. Teitelbaum at WHGH, and staff at Anson Place for their loving and compassionate care. The family will honour his life with visitation at the Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Funeral service will be celebrated in Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisherville on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11 am.  Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fisherville.  In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, West Haldimand General Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice. www.rhbanderson.com

So sad to hear this-- Ken will long be remembered as the pillar of your beautiful family-- what a wonderful, purposeful, loving patriarch you've cherished all these years! We are so sorry to hear that you are now without both parents - at least on this earth - but "we sorrow not as those who have no hope"!

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as you mourn this loss. We will always cherish Ken's smile and sense of humor. Especially when he would greet you with a huge hug. Dave recalls him being a long time hockey fan of the Hagersville Flyers and Hawks
