I will never know another Karen Fess. You were a gentle soul with a positive, funny, and kind personality. You lit up every room when you entered and every live you touched. I will forever miss your smile and your laugh. You fought a hard battle my friend, never giving up hope and never complaining. My heart breaks for Randy, Emily, Josh and Jed. I pray that time and memories will bring them peace. Until we meet again...hugs.

Dearest Karen, I remember all the weekends we spent "swapping houses" while growing up. Being older than you, I always thought you were spoiled (lol) but I loved you just the same. I wouldn't have changed a thing. We lost touch a bit when I moved out of town as a teenager and when I came back you were in school studying to be a teacher. I honestly could not see you as anything else. I will always remember you love for reading, your beautiful smile and your amazingly big heart.
My heart and prayers go out to Randy, Josh, Jed and Emily. Wendy and Ken, I wish I could be there for you. I send you all hugs.

Got the sad news today - Karen was a bright, uplifting and kind soul. Randy, your sister told me how determined Karen was to have her family Christmas this year. The kids have that memory and more. You all support each other and it is even more important now. God has blessed you with that strength. Our heart felt sympathies go out to you this winter. Keep those warm thoughts of the years you had together.

I was so sorry to hear about Karen's passing. It was a sad day when Karen had to resign from our GEETF Collective Bargaining Committee. She was so engaged in the process and looked forward to contributing more. Karen was important to Grand Erie students as a dedicated and caring teacher;she was important to her colleagues as their steward and member of our GEETF CBC. Karen's humour, smile, enthusiasm and wit will be remembered by all who knew her. My condolences and deepest sympathies.
