It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Brother and Uncle George Henry. Survived by siblings: Bill & Doris, Darlene, John & Chris, Arnie & Nancy, Jerry & Char, Leon & Shirley, Deb (Jeffery), Jamie, Bud & Brandee, and Denny & Amy. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Betty Henry and several nieces and nephews. George was known for his steady hands making world renowned soapstone carvings and his exceptional beadwork. He will also be missed for his words of wisdom, his jokes and his contagious laughter. Very Special uncle to all his nieces and nephews and friends to all the girls at Iroqrafts and Michelle Gentle. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Amy Montour and Team, Carepartners/First Nations Nursing and Long Term Care of Six Nations for all the help and support during this difficult journey. George will be resting at the Henry family homestead 3092 Sixth Line Road, Ohsweken Ontario after 11am Saturday. Funeral service and burial will be held at Onondaga Longhouse 11am on Sunday June 23 2019.
