Peacefully at Royal Rose Place, Welland on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in her 91st year. Wife of the late John Bretzler. Loving mother of Trudy, Karen (Jason), and the late Eric. Dear grandma of James (Jacqui). Great grandma to Henry, Edmund, and Lorelei. Sister of the late Gladys Slater (Earl), Wray McCready (Rita), and Clare McCready (Mary). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fern graduated from Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing. Funeral Service will be held at Faith Centennial United Church, 28 Main St. W., Selkirk on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1pm. with visiting from 11am. until service time. Dave and I are sad to learn of Fern's passing and offer you our deepest condolences. Fern and I shared the same profession of nursing but a generation or so apart. It was a special bond between us besides enjoying some good chats over a game of scrabble. She was a special part of Binkley United, Hamilton and when moving to Jarvis for long term care, we tried to visit whenever we passed that way in the summer. She loved to talk about her family and her many lovely memories of the farm.
You are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of a very special woman, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother - who will always be remembered with much love and affection.
