Greenfield: Edith Marilyn (Cossar)

Surrounded by her loving family, Edith Marilyn Greenfield, in her 70th year went to be with her Lord on Wednesday April 23rd at the Hamilton General Hospital. Survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, John, and her children Joan (Shawn), Hugh (Jennifer), and Sandra. Blessed with six incredible grandchildren, Edith (Meemo) was a bus driver, babysitter and always available with hugs for Olivia, Callum, Spencer, Benjamin, Cynthia and Avryl. Daughter of the late Francis and James Cossar. She is also survived by her sister, Jeannette ( the late Cliff) Tootell. Sister-in-law to Doug and Vera Greenfield, and Betty (Russ) Greenfield . A dedicated volunteer with Senior Support Services and other organizations, Edith will be remembered for her smile, infectious laughter and enormous heart. She was dearly loved by everyone who met her and will be cherished forever in our hearts. The family will honour her life with visitation at the Hyde and Mott Chapel, R.H.B.Anderson Funeral Homes ltd., 60 Main St. South, Hagersville on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9-p.m. Funeral Service will held at Springvale United Church on Monday April 28th at 11 a.m. Private family Interment. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the West Haldimand Hospital Foundation or Springvale United Church, www.rhbanderson.com .

Edith was a valuable volunteer and a cherished friend to all of the clients she assisted while volunteering with Senior Support Services. We will always treasure the memories of our Tuesday lunches and the laughs we had together.
She will be greatly missed by us all!

We offer our condolences. My apologies, we started out to visit you this evening but realized that the drive was too much for tonight .
I am sorry for the loss of the years you might have had, but I am confident that you have a wealth of experience to support you in the future. I feel sure from the years of working with you, that she must have been a fabulous Mom. Please accept our support and comfort in this family change.

I am so thankful we had a chance to visit, all be it short, at the Cossar Family Reunion, a couple of years ago in Powassan.
