Douglas Arthur Whitlow (Mohawk Turtle Clan) 

February 25th 1948 - September 9th 2026 

 


It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Douglas Arthur Whitlow 
with his beloved son Josh by his side and his extended family at the Brantford General Hospital. Doug walked peacefully into the spirit world at 1:00 am, Wednesday September 9th 2026. 

Born at Lady Willingdon Indian hospital in Ohsweken to Eddy and Hazel Whitlow 
Loving father of Josh. Special friend of Shelly. Adopted father of Lisa (Travis)  Grandfather of Sage and Alyssa. Brother of Bruce (Arlene) (deceased), Clifford  (Wendy) (deceased), Muriel (Lewis) Staats, Harry (Linda), Anne Scott, Sherwin (Justine), Tye (Floyd, deceased) Hill, Nancy (David, deceased) Goodbrand, and Don (Janet). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Doug Joined the US army at age 20 in 1968 and served for 3 years until being discharged in 1971, Graduated from University of British Columbia in 2005, he was also a union carpenter for many years and worked across North America in locations such as Rochester and Calgary where he resided for many years of his life, he also dedicated the last decade of his working life to being a wildlife officer in Six Nations but his most cherished role was as a father. He shared many teachings with family and friends and was the rock of stability.  
Resting at Styres Funeral Home, 1798 4th. Line after 2 p.m. Friday. Evening Service 6 p.m. Friday. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 12, 2026 at 1 p.m. Interment Stumphall Cemetery. www.rhbanderson.com
