Stephen Anthony Maggio
July 1, 1957 - December 22, 2017
 
Peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on December 22, 2017, at the age of 60, Stephen lost his battle with cancer after a courgeous two year, hard faught battle. Beloved and 'deer' husband to Zelda (nee Drinkwater).  Cherished father to Jennifer (Aaron) Smith and Paul Montague.  Loving Papa to Hanna, Emma, Bella and Evan Smith, Devin and April Montague.  Son of the late Lawrence and late Rae Maggio and stepson of Fred Reichheld.  The youngest brother of Frederick (Sheila), Kenneth (Diane), Michael (Loretta) and honourary brother to Joe (Linda) Maggio.  Son-in-law to Kenneth (deceased) and Peggy Drinkwater. Brother-in-law to Doreen Pring, Ken & Linda Drinkwater and Denise Drinkwater and survived by many neices, nephews and cousins. Stephen was an avid hunter, belonging to the "Buckbusters" of 30 years.  He will be missed by Darrel Gilbertson, Gary Anderson, Randy Brown, Cam Johnson and Bob Lafleur.
 
Cremation has already taken place.  A celebration of life will be held at Selkirk Christian Chapel Multipurose Building, 20 Erie Street North, Selkirk, on Friday, December 29th, 10 a.m. visitation, 11 a.m. service followed by a reception.  Special thanks to Dr. P. Drijber, Dr. J. Goffin, Cheryl Reed, Monique Vanderjagt, the staff of Juravinski Cancer Suite, the nurses of the CCAC and Pastor Gerald Tyrrell,  for the many visits during chemo. Stephen's faith has brought him home and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Multipurose Building at the Selkirk Christian Chapel.  www.rhbanderson.com

Stephan, you will be missed dearly because you were such an amazing individual...always there for your family and friends. Your strength and courage during your battle with your illness was inspirational. Never worry about, Zelda, as I promise I will be there to comfort her always.
