Douglas “Sherman” VanEvery
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Douglas Sherman “Sherm” VanEvery. Cherished father of Shaun & Amy Wilson. Loving grandfather to Brendan and Emma. Brother to Tony & Gina, Keith & Deb, Dave & Val, and Brother in Law to Terry. Very special Uncle to Peg and his numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Stan and Alice and siblings Don, Mike, Sheila, Terry and Cheryl. Sherm was very well known in the community and a huge fan of all sports. He was extremely proud to be a part of the Hill United baseball family. Every winter he would be found at the arena watching hockey, and in the summer he watched baseball and lacrosse. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gambling. Sherm was a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed. Resting at Styres Funeral Home, 1798 4th Line Rd., Ohsweken after 5pm.Tuesday where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 1pm. Lots of sporting memories with the VanEvery family over the past 55 years or so and always a friendly chat with Sherm, most recently at the arena. Very sorry for the family's loss of Sherm and Terry.

Sending our deepest sympathy to Shaun& Amy and the VanEvery families. He was a special friend, always friendly and talkative. He made sure that we were supplied with fish when he went fishing. Always thinking of others. He really enjoyed watching ball games and we would see him at many a ball diamond.
