Ruth Frances Herkimer

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ruth Herkimer (nee Warring) peacefully in her sleep at Cedarwood Village Nursing Home on Saturday, June 24th at the age of 85 years, our angel has received her wings.  Beloved Mom to Virginia Slack (Tim-deceased), Shirley Whitford (Dan), Vicki Train (Pat Legere), the late Robert Armstrong (Beth), Debbie Feeney (Ed), the late Mary Armstrong, and Steve Herkimer (Kate).  Mom is predeceased by her parents Robert and Frances Warring, brother William Warring, sister Gloria Olsen (Harry-deceased) and survived by her much loved brother and sister-in-law Doug and Sharon Warring.  Mom was Grandma-Grams-Gammy to 15 grandchildren and 19 Great-grandchildren for whom she spent countless hours at hockey arenas, ball diamonds and soccer fields to silently cheer for them in victory and defeat.  Mom will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews and also her in-laws that she always considered an important part of her life.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude and thanks to the amazing staff at Cedarwood, their kindness, patience and understanding through some very difficult days will never be forgotten.

As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family burial and Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  www.rhbanderson.com

To Vicki and family..so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Got to know her when we both worked at Norcliffe/Anson Place. Your Mom was always so intimidating when we worked together in the dining room. That is until the morning that she mixed up a bunch of breakfast orders. We looked at each other and both began to laugh. After that your Mom and I worked together great and always enjoyed a few laughs each shift. Great lady!
