Raymond Robert Faulkner
1936 - 2023
Ray passed away peacefully in Hagersville hospital, on Saturday, January 14, 2023 with his family at his bedside. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend, Ann, his two beloved children, Natalie (Jon-Paul) and Scott, his beloved grandson Collin, sister Isabell (Ray), brothers Sam (Barbara), Wally (Anne), and all his nephews and nieces. Ray is predeceased by his parents, Laura and Alec Faulkner and siblings Carmen, Flo and Wilfred.
Ray worked at several jobs over the years; he was in the paving business, a real estate agent and then became a real estate negotiator for the Ontario government and it was there he spent 20+ years before retiring.
He traveled widely accompanying Ann to many places, in particular the UK where Ann was born. He had a great attachment to family “across the pond”.
In his younger years around the time he and Ann first met, he was the lead singer in a small band, The Country Fairlaners, who played regularly in the Orillia, Ontario area. When his children were younger, Ray would sing songs to them with his guitar at bedtime instead of reading to them.
He loved people, he enjoyed family and friends reunions where he could talk to everyone, catching up on news, and having fun. Ray enjoyed woodworking and doing various projects around the house and working on his cars. He loved helping out when he could, and in his younger days used to enjoy helping neighbours with their own projects.
Ray will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He is watching over us and we will love him forever. See you one day my love.
