Melba "Lucille" Powless
December 3, 1957 - January 24, 2026
It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of a shining light in our family, Melba "Lucille" Powless.
Lucille was the beloved daughter of the late Melvin and Myrtle Powless. While she never had children of her own, she possessed a mother’s heart, showering her love upon a large family of nieces and nephews. To them, she was a source of wonder—always ready with a captivating story or a game. Her family will fondly remember her unique passions, specifically her legendary enthusiasm for Avon and her cherished collection of Care Bears, which brought her so much joy. She is survived by her brother Manny, and her devoted niece Kandis and her family, who will miss her dearly.
Lucille has now gone to join her family who passed before her. We find comfort in knowing that her brothers David, Rob, and Snook, and her sisters Emily, Edie, Wally, and Natalie were there waiting with open arms to welcome her home.
Friends and family are invited to gather and share their favorite stories this coming Friday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Styres Funeral Home on 1798 4th Line, Ohsweken. In accordance with Lucille's wishes, cremation will take place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. www.rhbanderson.com
