Mary Leta (Chee Chee) Henry (nee Longboat)
December 2, 1940 ~ August 11, 2024
It's with immense sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful Mother/Grandmother at the age of 83. Loving lifelong friend to Geronimo. Cherished mother of Lyle, Wendell (Rhonda) the late Darrell (Laurie), Corinne, Sheryl and Randall.
Predeceased by parents Leander Joseph and Violet Longboat. Sister to Duncan, Gilbert and Joanne. Predeceased by siblings Lee (Sonny), Benny, Linda, Deb and Ginger. Forever remembered by her 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
This precious person was one of the most gentle, caring, compassionate and generous souls you'd ever meet. She was the true definition of what a Mother/Grandmother should be, she brought a sense of love and comfort just being in her presence. There was always an open door at Grams, a spare room or a couch. Whenever you went to her house you were embraced with a warm smile and showered with unconditional love. We will all miss her baking skills nobody can come close to her apple pie, or cookies and donuts. When you left her house you are always embraced with a big hug, a kiss on the cheek followed by I love you. She was truly something else.. the strength of a warrior with a heart of gold. She had a sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. She also had a feisty side to her and was very strong-willed. She enjoyed making her own clothes, cutting grass, playing horseshoes, playing guitar as well as singing and listening to country and bluegrass music. She enjoyed watching the Olympics and was an avid hockey night in Canada fan. She will always be remembered as a big Elvis fan. But what she loved and enjoyed the most though was her family. She will be forever remembered for the love she gave us all and the impact she's had on all that had the pleasure of having her in their lives.
Those We Love Don't Go Away They Walk Beside Us Everyday.
The family will be honoring her with a private service. If you wish to honor her we invite you to the burial at Christ Church on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11 o’clock. Arrangements by Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken. www.rhbanderson.com
