Decades ago, Bub was in my Grade 9 class at Pauline Johnson Collegiate. The computer list told me his name was Marvin. He signed all of his work, Wayne. His friends all called him, Bub, and that is how I remember him best. At some point that year, in some contest I no longer remember, he won a plastic ruler with pictures of Mickey Mouse on it. He left that ruler with me at the end of the year and I used it right until the day I retired. It made me feel good to use it because it reminded me of his smile and his laughter and his great sense of humour. You really have made a mark in the world when you can leave a memory that clear behind you.

My sincere condolences to the family, especially his siblings who I also taught. You were all great kids.
