BENNETT:  Marilyn Rose

On Saturday September 28, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Marilyn Rose Bennett passed away at the age of 74 after a short and sudden battle with cancer.
Devoted and loving wife of Ralph for 55 years and warm and loving mother to Lisa (Francis), Tracy (Orval) and predeceased by their twin boys. High school sweethearts who met in Hamilton, enjoyed family trips to Saskatchewan and Myrtle Beach,  and relaxing in Hagersville’s country side with a fur baby by her side.

Marilyn was the most loving and selfless gramma to her grandchildren Melanie (Harry), Jesse, Benjamin (Kristen), Amelia, Lucas, Tanya (Jeremy) and Cody.  She will be fondly remembered by her siblings, nieces, nephews, her “out west” family and her dearest friends.  Marilyn will be reunited with her parents, Amelia (nee Cherenzia) & Gordon Scidmore as well as Marg Scidmore (nee Degruchy).

Marilyn loved to care for and entertain her family and friends whether it was at holidays, their annual corn roast or card nights. You could always find her smiling at the penny slots, was an avid Blue Jays fan and never missed one of her grandchildren’s sporting or school events.  Her grandchildren will miss her thoughtfully hand written cards, being called “Lovey” every time they were greeted and her special recipes.

Special thank you to Eric in the ER and the third floor staff of West Haldimand General Hospital, Six Nations Paramedics Mary Heather Cochren and Graham Little, the outreach staff from Stedman Community Hospice and CBI Home Health.

Marilyn never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no services. The family hopes everyone will celebrate her life in a way that is meaningful to them.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Haldimand General Hospital Foundation.  www.rhbanderson.com

“I believe there are Angels Among Us,
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love.”
