Marie Lillian McCormick (nee: Ramsey)
July 15, 1933 - October 29, 2022

It is with very heavy hearts that Marie’s family announces her sudden passing. God has sent her to be with her family in Heaven.  A bright, beautiful light has left this world.

She is predeceased by her beloved mother Harriet Ellen (Nellie) Ramsey (nee: Benoit); father Hugh David Ramsey; husband John Daniel McCormick; grandson John Robert (Little John) Kebic; brothers Ronald Ramsey, Hugh Ramsey (Marg), Harold Ramsey (Pearl), Bill Ramsey (Brenda), and Raymond Ramsey; sister-in-law Jean Ramsey.

She is survived by her daughter Sherill Marie McCormick (Ron), her brothers Eugene (Bob) Ramsey (Jean), Carl (Ed) Ramsey, and Glen Ramsey (Royce); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She truly was a very special lady.  Family and friends meant so much to her.  She donated to many charities and loved animals.  She always wanted to help however she could.  She was exceptionally strong and had a fighting spirit.  When life knocked her down, somehow she always got back up.

Marie had a great sense of humor, always laughing and joking.  Especially with her daughter with whom she had a very close bond.  She was a fantastic cook and baker.  Had crafted many beautiful ceramic pieces, enjoyed going on walks and was a huge Elvis Presley fan.

Born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.  She enjoyed living in Ontario but always maintained a strong connection to her roots; as did her husband, John.  They raised their daughter with that same connection even though she was born and raised in Ontario.

Her daughter wishes to thank her Mom’s dear, long time friends Carrie and Gary Stonehouse, Minnie Kuiper and Rosemary Okimi for always being so kind and helpful.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will take place at a future date to be determined.  Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville.  www.rhbanderson.com
