Marie Rosetta Hartwick

Marie Rosetta Hartwick passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at WHGH in her 100th year.  Marie was born to the late Harvey and Rosetta Held on January 25th, 1923. She married the late Glen Charles (Bud) Hartwick in October 1947.

Beloved mother to Donald (Mary), Susan (David Hawn), Peggy (Tom Mackie), Dennis (Kim), Terry and John (Suzi).  She will be greatly missed by 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Bud in 1993, and is survived by sister-in-law Doris Held and many nephews and nieces.

Marie was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisherville and a past member of the Ladies Aid. Mom loved her life living in her country homes; and nothing made her happier than when her large family gathered for Christmas dinner or enjoying a game of cards with her own siblings.

Marie lived in her own home until earlier this year and then moved to Parkview Meadows and was lovingly cared for by staff and family.

Private family funeral arrangements have been made through Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville with interment at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fisherville. Donations can be made to the WHGH, Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisherville or the charity of your choice.

Good-bye my family, my life is past,
I loved you all to the very last.
Weep not for me but courage take,
Love each other for my sake,
For those you love, don’t go away,
They walk beside you every day.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of Marie. She was a long time friend of my mother Helen (Arnold) Livingstone and I always enjoyed listening to "the girls" reminisce and tell stories when they got together. May the Lord grant comfort to the family.

Dear Hartwick family, so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. We felt privileged to be her neighbour for many years.
This year no Christmas card exchange! Thinking of you as you carry on and celebrate her life on earth and now in Heaven.

To the Hartwick Family: Laura and I are very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, grandmother and great grandmother, our Aunt Marie. We will always remember her as a happy, caring and thoughtful person and I often think of the time she and uncle Bud opened their home to a couple of dozen school children stranded in a snow storm for, not an hour or two, but a couple of days. Aunt Marie coped with that event as if it happened every day.

Aunt Marie lived a long and memorable life and she will be missed.
