Joan Elaine Johnson (nee Bomberry)


August 16, 1942 to June 7, 2025



It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan on June 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Loving wife of 60 years of Ambrose Johnson. Devoted mother of Cathy (Chris) and Mark (Amy). Cherished “Mah” of Ashley, Hillary (Cam), Hannah, Mark Jr (Anna-May) Abby and Violet. Predeceased by parents Arnold F and Hilda Bomberry. Survived by siblings Arnold (Vivien), Roger, Donna (Ted), Debbie (Mike), Tina, Harvey and sister-in-law Jay. Predeceased by siblings David, Richard, Lois, Michael, Timothy and sister-in-law Rita. Will be missed by her cats Tom and Jerry. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Joan was a Faithkeeper of the Lower Cayuga Longhouse.


The family would like to thank Dr. Khalid, Dr. Trevor, Dr. Hsiao, the PSW‘s and nurses of the palliative care program. 


Resting at her home at 3398 Fourth Line on Sunday, June 8, 2025 after 4 PM. Funeral on Tuesday June 10, 2025 at 11am at the Seneca Longhouse, with burial to follow at Lower Cayuga Longhouse. Arrangements made by Styres Funeral Home, Ohsweken. www.rhbanderson.com

Condolences to the Joan's family. Joan and Ambrose were friends with my parents along with Elda and Paul Hill's family. Many weekends were spent playing cards or just hanging out and visiting.

My deepest condolences to the family. Joan was an amazing woman with so much knowledge.i was lucky to have learned so much from her in my younger years. She will be so missed.
