We are heart-broken to announce the passing of Jack Hodges on May 14, 2025 at the age of 83. Jack is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Janet (Short) of 42 years. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Cathy and Carolin. Jack has been a caring step-dad to David (Kate), Amy (Greg) and Johnny (Sharon), loved Grandpa to Ashley, Stephanie, Courtney (Jeremy), Tyler, Keely, Ashley (Tim), Kennedy (Chace), Emma (Luke), Becky (Brad), Michael (Sydney), Hannah and Isaac, and Great Grandpa to Sophie, Lily, Lane, Brooks, Josie, Eva, Johnny, Maci, Millie and baby Claire who is waiting for him. Jack will be sadly missed by his brothers, Bob (Gail) and David and cousin Gail, and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, good friends and neighbours.
Jack’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched throughout the years, whether it was sharpening skates for skaters around the province and beyond, volunteering at the Preston Figure Skating Club or in his leadership with the Western Ontario Section of Skate Canada. Jack taught shop and geography at the high school level for 12 years, then went back to the trade he loved working as a tool and die maker. Our deepest condolences on Jack's passing. So many fun memories of Jack from Longfield Court and the PFSC, to the cottage in Bala and the house on Big Bay Point. He will be fondly remembered. Take good care, Janet and family.

Jack Hodges will always be thought of and remembered by me as my Huckleberry Hodges from Hespeler.Throughout my many visits and extended summer holidays we shared lots of boyhood adventures centered around Maple St. with trips to the river for rafting, fishing, frog hunting and general outdoor fun not to forget getting caught on the tresle bridge by the occasional steam train.
I never went to school or worked or played on any sports teams with Jack but we finally got to share our interests in golf with yearly trips to South Carolina and especially Hilton Head.
Well time moves on and slips away but the forever moments of my Huckleberry type brother will always be a happy and big part of my life.

Sincerest condolences to Janet, David and Bob and all Jack's extended family. We first met Jack (and Janet) the night we moved into the house next door in Big Bay Point - and the moving company got their truck stuck in the driveway. I remember a lot of time playing in the wood pile and can't imagine having better neighbours. We solved a lot of the world's problems over a beer or two and a backyard fire. And we got a fabulous deal on lobsters on their way home back to Hagersville after a visit with us in Lunenburg. Jack was one of the good ones and he'll be sorely missed.
