Hunter Robert-Roy Willis

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our sweet, kind, brave and wonderful Hunter Willis.  Hunter passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Hunter left this world far too soon at the young age of 24.

Hunter is survived by his brother Jackson, his parents Renee (Jamie) and Mark (Alexis), devoted girlfriend Luba and her parents Debbie and Dejan, grandmother Marylou (his late grandfather Robert), many many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless other loved ones.

Everyone who knew Hunter was blessed by his big heart, cunning wit, and if you were lucky, a guitar solo.

A visitation will be held at the Highway Pentecostal Church, 4501 Plank Road, Haldimand County on Monday, April 3rd at 11am with a service to follow at 1pm.

The family would like to thank the Nurses, Doctors and staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their compassionate care and support.  They would also like to thank all of our family and friends for their support and prayers during this tragic and painful time.

To Renee and the Willis family, I don’t have the words to express my sorrow at this incredible, tragic loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Hunter a few times and he was an exceptional human, loved fiercely by his family and gone far too soon. May he rest in Heaven and may his memory be a blessing.

I am shocked, saddened and rendered speechless by this news. No parents should ever have to bury a child. I can only offer words, thoughts and

As we sit here thinking about the loss of one of your cubs, we can only scratch at the level of grief we know you must bear. Sometimes we want to find some special and magical words to rescue you from your grief but we cannot find them verbally. The best...the most profound we can offer is our shared grieving silence and hugs. As we process ours and your grief we seek the comfort of God in an experience so deeply deflating and angering and as we search for His comfort we pray He meets you in your need as well. You are loved and cared for Sis! We pray for you and Jaimie, Mark, Jackson and Luba.

Renée - I am so heartbroken. Words are not enough - one of your heart beats is gone. Too cruel, so unfair, wrong. May the love of others, and the knowledge that God is with you in the hardest of times, carry you. Love, Elisabeth
