 Greg Dawson
June 8, 1967 - January 8, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce Greg’s sudden passing on January 8th, 2024, at the age of 56. Survived by his parents, Hal and Ruth Dawson, and his sister Deanna (Andrew). Proud uncle to Kyle, Abbey, and Noah. Greg will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
Greg grew up in Burlington and attended university in Windsor. He has been working at Toyotetsu for the last four years while living in the Haldimand region. At each stage of his life Greg had the talent of surrounding himself with amazing friends and colleagues, and the family would like to thank you all for your love and support at this time.
Greg has been a lifelong learner, an avid reader with a passion for history. Uncle Greg was a true “Super Fan” and cheerleader at sporting events for hockey and lacrosse. Remembering him for wearing his Eagles toque to all hockey games. We have lost track of how often Greg donated blood, but the milestone is around 125 times.

As per his wishes, private cremation has taken place. A small private gathering of remembrance with be held later this month. Online condolences and memories  can be shared at www.rhbandersonfuneralhomes.com.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences

Mr and Mrs Dawson, Deanna, I was absolutely shocked and saddened to learn of Greg’s passing. Memories of Greg and our friendship through elementary and high school remain strong for me. I will always fondly remember summer days by the pool at the Dawson house, the New Year’s Day with the Dawson’s on the shore of Lake Erie where I was introduced to goose, our “camping trip” to Wasaga in my old Corolla and the many high school dances we went to. Greg was legend to me for his ability to walk his own path. I am sorry we lost touch. He was a good and kind soul. Long live the Funk!!!!

So sorry for your loss. I worked directly with Greg in Stamping Orange shift. He was a pleasure to work with and great to talk to. I always had great conversations with him. I also have grown up on the shore of Lake Erie like Greg did. Greg was a very hard worker, he gave it his all. I will miss seeing him.

Greg was a good a friend and as loyal a buddy as one could have. A "kind soul" as a mutual friend told me yesterday. We are all in shock and sharing in your grief. I will so miss that deep roaring laugh and the stories that seemed to go on forever.

I worked with you on your last Friday on Earth, we punched out and walked out together, we talked a lot about life and living, I asked how come you're so deep and I found out why. You said you'd not coming 4 hours earlier on Sunday because you needed to rest, you came in Sunday and left abruptly to rest forever. I wish you a peaceful journey Greg. Good night!
