Gladys' family are saddened to announce her peaceful passing, in Hagersville, Ontario, on Tuesday, 7 August 2018, one month before her 90th birthday,  Beloved and loving wife for 55 years of the late Al Hewitt (2004). Dearly loved mother of her children David and Fariba, of Stratford, Ontario; Carolyn, of Hamilton; and Don and Carolyn, of Calgary. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jonathan and Amara, of Calgary; Meghan, of Calgary; Andrew and Savannah, of Stratford; and Mitra and Erik, of London; and by her great-grandchildren Noble and Lily, of Stratford. Gladys was a wise and generous soul, who never had an unkind word to say, endearing herself to all who knew her. She was an avid bridge player and knitter, donating many of her works to the West Haldimand General Hospital. Pursuant to her wishes there will be no public visitation, and there will be a private family memorial at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Anson Place Retirement Home, Dr. Phillip Drijber, and the staff of WHGH. Donations in Gladys' memory to the West Haldimand General Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.   www.rhbanderson.com

So sorry to hear of your Moms passing. Fond memories of all our time on Elm St. The Moms weekly bridge games were legendary on our street. Glad I had such a good visit with Carolyn awhile ago and got caught up with her on your families.
Your Mom was indeed a gentle, kind woman.

Sorry to hear about Gladys. I enjoyed playing bridge with her. I would drop in for a few minutes to see her when I was visited my husband in Anson Place. She was a terrific lady and will be missed.

I am sorry to hear oh Gladys' passing. She was a woman I admired...I learned so much about Bridge from playing with her at hospital bridge games. She always saw the best in everyone...I will miss her, knowing that she is not with us anymore and but has gone on to a better place. My condolences to her family and friends, Charlotte DishkewDMFRv
