Gilbert Marlen Bomberry, aged 80, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, in Hagersville, Ontario, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born to the late Thomas Howard Bomberry and Belva Bomberry (nee Jamieson), Gilbert lived a life rooted in family and community.
He was the beloved and cherished husband of Lorraine Bomberry, with whom he shared 45 beautiful years of marriage. Gilbert was a dedicated father to his children, Tracy, Sean (Sara), Nancy (Fin), Tiff (Nick), and Alicia (Clifton).
He held a special place in his heart for his role as Papa and proud grandfather to Dakota, Kia, Vaughn, Hunter, Tristin, Tarian, Aidan, Gavin (Brae), Tayton (Alanena), Jessa, Nikayla, Janessa (Dredon), Jerren, Josa, Jalayna, and Jemma. He was also the treasured Great Grandpapa to Kaz, Vada, Haven, Ivy, and Indie.
Gilbert was the loving big brother to Wendell, Becky (Brian), Eileen (Rick), Barbara (Doran), Doug (Sweets), Frank (Jackie), Jane (Joe), Carl (Cheryl), and Janice (Paul). He will be fondly remembered and missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He enters into rest reunited with his parents, his brothers Bill, Stan, Tom Jr., Dennis, and Howard, his grandson Wade, and his great-granddaughter Drayonna.
Gilbert’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew him.
Resting at Hyde and Mott Chapel, 60 Main Street South Hagersville from 9am to 9pm on Wednesday. Where funeral service will take place on Thursday June 25, 2026 at 1pm. Cremation to follow. www.rhbanderson.com
