Barbara Ann Maidment
January 22, 1949 - February 8, 2024
Surrounded by her loved ones, Barbara Ann Maidment (nee Collier) passed away in her 75th year comfortably under the care of CCU in Hamilton General Hospital on the 8th of February, 2024.
Barbara was a loving, passionate person who cared deeply for her family and friends. She grew up in Hamilton, pursued a career in nursing, and settled in Hagersville to raise and nurture her family. Her endurance, love and kindness in life give us the strength and courage to continue moving forward. She enjoyed living her life to the fullest through camping and traveling with her family and loving husband of 56 years, Ken and their cherished dog, Tucker. She loved spending time outdoors, especially walks through the forest, fishing, and hiking in the northern areas of Ontario. She was an avid gardener and crafter, reflecting often on memories and skills she gained from her parents, Margaret and Vernon and brother Ross Collier, who preceded her in death.
Barbara will be kept alive in memory by her beloved husband Kenneth, children Laura (Joe) DeCarvalho, Ron (Tonya) Maidment, her grandchildren Brett (Stephanie), Erin, Connar, and Kristina, brother-in- law Mark (Marta), cousins, nieces, nephews and all others who had the pleasure of experiencing life with her. Her beautiful smile, words of encouragement, and creative personality will be missed so much. There will be a private family celebration of life following cremation. The family would appreciate expressions of sympathy be made through donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Our deepest condolences to Barb’s family.
It was a privilege and honour to embrace this great woman in our lives as our friend and “adopted mom”.
Barb lived life with joy, humour, love and the purest connection with nature, animals and the creative arts. We are grateful for the years of laughter, holiday dinners (and epic food fights) in the great outdoors, historical ghost tours, singing around the campfire, our “official adoption ceremony" and our shared love of dogs, wine and camping.
Thank you Barb, for generously sharing your love with us, and reminding us that we have the choice to focus on the simple joys of life and positivity, amidst the troubles and suffering we endure. May your beautiful spirit soar with the red cardinals that were meaningful to you - a symbol that angels and loved ones are near.
We hold Barb and her family in our hearts, and thank our dearest friends Laura (Joe), Brett and Erin for sharing their mother and grandmother with us. Love, Tanya & Darren ❤️
