June 19, 1934 - October 2, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Barb on Monday October 2, 2023 at Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village in Townsend in her 90th year. Barb is survived by her sister Eleanor Summerfield, and sister-in-law Earla Garr, her children Lynn Brogan (late Greg), Carol Bain (Colin), and son Doug Book. She will be lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by many friends and extended family. Predeceased by brother Donald Garr. Barb enjoyed a wonderful career as a legal secretary with the law firm of De Rubeis, Chetcuti. Barb’s family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Parkview Meadows for the wonderful care.

I worked with Barb, many moons ago, and she was a wonderful caring lady. She had the best laugh that was so contagious!
Had I known Barb was here in Townsend I would’ve stopped in for a visit since I have lived in Townsend for the past 28 years.

With deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom, Sister and Sister-in-law. Barb was such a nice lady who we always went to to pay for the beautiful condo we rented from the De Rubeis family in Florida. My parents thought your Mom was such a nice lady and I also met her one year when we rented it on our own. We have a lot of wonderful memories of Florida and Barb always had the keys for us to pick up
