Anna Maria Frech
July 30, 1936 - February 7, 2022

Our much loved, sweet mother Anna passed away at the age of 85 on Feb. 7, 2022.

Anna is predeceased by her husband Philipp and brother Frank (Rose and Helen).  She was a gentle and wonderful mother loved by her daughters and their husbands: Marion (Gilbert), Monica (Brian) and Anita (John).

Known as Omi to her grandchildren: Marc (Aimée), Lisa (Derek), Sarah (Chris), Lindsay, Cassidy and Riley. Omi will be missed by her great-grandchildren Jack, Frank and Travis whose visits gave her so much joy.

Tante Anna will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Ann (Pete), Brian (Carol), Frank (Darlene), Brenda (Peter) and their families. She will be missed by her brother-in-law John (Lotte).

Anna was born in Dunabogdany Hungary to Franz and Julianna and emigrated to Canada with her family in 1953.  They left Germany escaping the aftermath of war. The family worked hard on a sugar beet farm near Lethbridge Alberta to make a new life for themselves.  There Anna met Philipp whose family came to Canada under similar circumstances.  They married and moved to Toronto where their daughters were born.

They worked hard, bought a home and raised their family.  In their leisure time they enjoyed card games with friends, travelling to tropical locations and spending time at the farm and cottage.

Anna loved to sing, go for walks, dance and garden.  She spent the last few years in a retirement home and enjoyed being active, participating in almost all of the activities they offered.  Anna was only recently diagnosed with cancer and spent her last days at Ian Anderson House for which we are very grateful. We thank the staff there for their care and compassion.

Anne will be laid to rest beside her husband Philipp at St. Annes RC Church, Jarvis.

In lieu of flowers it would be appreciated if donations were made in honour of Anna Frech, to Ian Anderson House Hospice Oakville Ontario.
