Andrew died peacefully at Anson Place, Hagersville on Monday June 10, 2024 at the age of 93. Born on November 4, 1930 in Watou, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Son of the late Marcel Vanexem and Julia Wils. Husband of the late Paula De Coensel. Loving father of Linda (Keith) Goddard, Joseph (Betty), John (Chevien), Theresa (Paul) Freund, Julie Vanexem (late Steve Harris), the late Ralph Vanexem, and Mary (late Doug) Simpson.  Dear grandpa of 14 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Brother of Simone (late Etienne) Verhulst, Astrid (Pete) Van Ryswyck, Joseph, Maria (late Harry) Van Ryswyck, Paul (Carol), Godlieve (late Chris) Duyck, and the late Louise & Ralph Vanooteghem, Gerarda & Pete Hurkens, Gerard (Josie), and Andrea (Andre) Delporte.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout Canada, Belgium, France, and Germany.

Rest in peace dearest pa, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend……………

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 94 Main St. S., Hagersville on Thursday June 13, 2024 at 11 am.  Interment St. Ann’s Cemetery, Walpole.   As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.  Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville. www.rhbanderson.com

Our condolences to all the family. Andy was a wonderful person. We enjoyed his company. I pray that God is there to comfort everyone and to help you all to find peace through the Holy Spirit.

I just thinking about Andy the other day and wondered what had become of this dear sweet man. I worked in the Post Office and would see him regularly. I have been retired for 6 years and lost track of him. May he rest in peace. A gentle loving soul.
