It is with deep sadness, much love, and broken hearts that we mourn the loss of Robert (Bob) Kenneth McGill, who suddenly passed away on February 10, 2025 in his 78th year, in his residence in Hagersville, surrounded by his fur babies; Korky, Molly, and Daisy-May.

His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We share our very sudden loss of a dear husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who lived to love his life.

Those who knew Bob will remember him for his vast memory and knowledge, his supportive advise, his witty humour and jokes, and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered.

He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

Bob was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018. He struggled through his treatments of many months of chemotherapy, with victory. Following his victory, and years later he experienced challenges onward with his health.

As he struggled, God knew he was tired, his work on earth was done and he was called home to watch over us and guide us everyday. He will be our forever angel.

Bob grew up and went to school in Kirkland Lake but home to him was Larder Lake where he enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor sports, with his family and friends. Bob spent time in England taking his skilled trade as a Glazier Mechanic/Millwright of 35 years.

Bob leaves behind his best friend Debra of many years, and his children, Carey Ann Rabb, Rachael Labonte (Roger), Heather Rowe (Dale), Mark McGIll (Amanda), Ashley McGIll (Joe Winger).

“POPPA” loved his precious 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson (Jesse).  Although miles apart from them he carried them in his heart everyday.  Shantel, Shelby (Connor), Savannah, Shayelynn he was happy and proud to be their Poppa. Close to his heart and life he loved, shared and adored the closeness of his 4 grandchildren; Alexander, Addison, Adrianna and Ashton.

He leaves behind his “kid” brother Clifford McGill (Colleen) and many nieces and nephews, cousins.  Bob leaves behind his extended family who had the pleasure of enjoying his company, witty humour and jokes.

He is now rejoined at the stairway to heaven with his parents Charles and Rosina McGill, and his best friend in fun, laughter, trouble and travels, his brother Brian McGill (Linda).

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bob’s Life will be announced at later date.

Debra and all of Bob’s loving family. My heart goes out to each of you at this time and in the days and years ahead. Love is an experience that we carry with us for ever and I am sure that Bob must have felt this in his own way. Of course we will be saddened at the absence of his voice but you can carry his stories forward as one of your gifts. May you be surrounded by family and friends who can hold you in their hearts.
