Maxine Sharples (nee Ashbaugh)

With broken hearts and profound grief we announce the peaceful passing of Maxine Sharples on September 18, 2022 with family by her side.  Maxine’s legacy of love leaves behind her husband; George, daughter; Carrie-Ann (Scott Baird), son; Robin Machauer (Vicki), and her cherished grandchildren; Hayden (Amanda), Logan (Alexandra), Noah (Kailey), Mikayla (Stacey), Wyatt and great grandson; Leo and forthcoming 2nd great grandchild.  She will be dearly missed by her mother; Helen Salmond and brother; David Ashbaugh (Diane).

There was never a moment Maxine wasn’t putting others before herself.  She was a devoted Nana, who loved being with her grandkids.  Her favorite time of year was the time she spent at the cottage with her family. She looked forward to family dinners, and loved to antique shop. She will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, and co workers  for her great sense of humor, kind heart, loyalty and her impeccable work ethic.  A special thank you to Dr. Juergens and her team for their genuine care and kindness and to Bronco for the daily messages that always brightened our moms day.

A private family gathering will take place.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the following charities that Maxine supported would be meaningful; Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Crohns & Colitis Canada, or Jumpstart Charity.

Notes of sympathy and condolences may be made at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes

You will be missed immensely MOM

We were blessed with the best NANA

You are forever in our hearts.

When I was in high school and university, she was like a mom to me as well.
My condolences to all family members, and especially to my good friend Mosh. I have great memories being at your house in Cayuga. Max was gold.
RIP Maxine.

I’m forever grateful for having Max as a guiding influence in my, and David’s, teenage rebel years.
I was so grateful to reconnect on Facebook, and so sorry it came too late to see Max again.
My heartfelt condolences to George, and all the family.

“Sometimes the saddest moment is when the person who gave you the best memories, becomes a memory.
Share, Cherish, and Rejoice in these memories, they are yours forever.”

There are no words to express how I am feeling at this moment, just learned that my dear friend Max has passed away! Over the years we had so many great times together and I will never forget Max, she was a beautiful person inside and out. Max was always planning Family get togethers, she loved to entertain and welcomed anyone into her home. I am truly blessed to have had Max in my life and will cherish our friendship forever. Sending my sincere "Thoughts and Prayers" to George, Carrie, Robin, all Grandchildren, Helen and Dave, as well as Max's extended Family and friends at this most difficult time. God Bless, RIP Maxine ..."Memories last Forever"
